I felt like doing some paintings with just an idea in my head of what I wanted to paint and these two little artworks evolved. Really pleased with how they turned out.

Summer Days in acrylics

I changed this one a little bit when compared to the reference photo - there we two trees on the river bank but I thought it made it a busy so changed to just the one.  Rather pleased with how it turned out.

Gaudy Commodore Butterfly in acrylics

And for something different, I painted this lovely butterfly.  I used a few glazes to get the depth to the wings.

Tufted Jay ACEO in acrylics

Tufted Jays are found in a small area in Mexico.  They measure around  35 - 38 cm in length and weigh around 180 grams.

White Browed Woodswallow ACEO in acrylics

The White Browed Woodswallow is found throughout eastern Australia. They measure around  19 - 21 cm in length and weigh on average 37 grams.

White Browed Woodswallow measures 2.5 x 3.5 inches and is painted on  300 gsm smooth Arches watercolour paper.

I had same paint left over from painting this morning so decided to paint a little seascape aceo painting. It evolved a bit from memory and imagination.  Really pleased with how it turned out.
