Twilight Cove in acrylics

I really enjoyed painting this one. Lately I have been playing around with creating a digital painting eg to paint a seascape and then see what I can come up with. If I like what I painted digital, then use that as a reference point to paint the physical painting.  Rather pleased with how this one turned out.

Summer Beach in acrylics

 This one was fun to paint - everything just worked.  I used the copper and gold metallic paint on the rocks which gives them a bit of a sparkle.

 I haven't painted a seascape for ages.  I bought some metallic paint awhile back and decided that the gold and copper paint would work really well for the sand.  Really pleased with how it turned out.

I took the reference photo for this one a few years back in Tasmania.  I have had it printed for ages to paint and was finally ready to tackle it.  I often do that - print something out to paint and then ponder how I am going to go about painting it.   Probably  the reason I have such a huge pile of references photo's printed / saved.

Kirra Beach in acrylics

I discovered Kirra Beach a few weeks back when down at the Gold Coast. There is a  small rocky headland that separates Kirra Beach and Coolangatta Beach and  I ended up taking quite a few reference photos from this spot.

A few months back I took a day trip down to the Gold Coast (about 1 hour and bit drive away).  Took a few reference  photos at Burleigh Beach and decided to paint this scene.

Margate Beach in acrylics

This spot is opposite a fish and chip shop that I often go to - it is on the Redcliffe peninsula and is about  15 minute drive away from were I live.  Normally the Bay is quite calm but if the wind is blowing then it can be rather choppy with larger waves which it was in this case and for once I had my camera with me so managed to get few reference photos
