Cottagecore Geese - Surface Pattern Design

 I had so much fun creating this pattern for the latest #Spoonflower Cottagecore Wallpaper challenge.

I took the photos of the geese years ago at property I stayed at in Deloraine, Tasmania. I always loved the pose of the one that is facing straight on but never quite got around to painting him in acrylics - he just seemed perfect for this pattern though.

I am planning on adding to this collection - I want to create a tossed version that just features the geese - just deciding if I use these three or add a few more poses into the mix

Flame Robin No 7 In acrylics

I enjoyed painting this one.  Red feathers are always a bit of a challenge to paint as you can't really use white to create the light feathers as you would end up with pink feathers.  So, to lighten the feathers I usually build the feathers up with white and then glaze over them with yellow and red paint which seems to work rather well.

Superb Fairy Wren No 29 in acrylics

 I bought some new acrylic paints to try out Dr. Ph. Martin's Spectralite. They are very much like their watercolour paints (which I use) but the properties of acrylic paints which I rather like.

Thinking of trying out a mixed media project next.

Grey Fantail in acrylics

 I took the reference photo for this one a few years back.  I love how it is perched on the branch.

It was the first time I had painted on an Aluminum Panel and they are a lovely surface to work on.   I do prefer them to some other panels that I have tried so will use them again.
