Enjoyed painting this one - I started off with just the basic placement for the trees and path and then built the painting up from there.

A few watercolour paintings

I felt like a change so decided to paint a few watercolour landscapes - a spring and autumn scene.  I painted them together - the reason being is I am a bit impatient to let the paint dry completely so that way I could work on one and while that one dried, I work other one - worked really well.

Really pleased with the light I managed to create in this one.  It sort of took on a life of its own and it looks nothing like the reference photo.

I also cropped this ones  reference photo and changed it to more of a spring scene.  Love how my trees turned out - used a flat brush which seems to work well.

Spring Forest in acrylics

I  really enjoy  painting the forest scenes as I can use a lot  of artistic license and it is just what I need when I need a break from detail.  I have also painted a bluebell and autumn scene using the same reference photo  - the only part of the scene that is consist is the position of the path as I changed the number and placement of trees.  It is rather fun painting three different versions of the same scene. I will blog the bluebell and autumn paintings next week - just need them to cure before varnishing them.

I felt like painting a few little landscape paintings. This is the first one I did.  Rather pleased with how it turned out.  It looks nothing like the reference photo.  I tend to use the reference photo's more for the placement of the path and the occasional tree but that's about it.
