Margate Beach in acrylics

This spot is opposite a fish and chip shop that I often go to - it is on the Redcliffe peninsula and is about  15 minute drive away from were I live.  Normally the Bay is quite calm but if the wind is blowing then it can be rather choppy with larger waves which it was in this case and for once I had my camera with me so managed to get few reference photos

I had same paint left over from painting this morning so decided to paint a little seascape aceo painting. It evolved a bit from memory and imagination.  Really pleased with how it turned out.

Sunrise Over Marcoola Beach in acrylics

I took the reference photo last year.   The sun was behind clouds which made for rather an interesting sunrise.  Rather pleased with how painting turned out.

I reworked this on after I thought I was finished.  Decided that the rocks were a bit dull so I did a glaze of red oxide over them and added in the clouds which seemed to complete the painting.

I was looking through my photos and came across the photo's I took when on holiday in Tasmania a few years back and decided to paint this scene.  I enjoy painting the seascapes so I must take a trip  to the Sunshine Coast and take some more references photos of the beach, waves etc.

A few aceo's in acrylics

For something different I decided to paint a few aceo seascapes inspired from watching the waves down at Suttons Beach, Redcliffe on the weekend. Normally it is pretty flat but the wind was blowing so the sea was a lot choppier.
