Bluebell Woodlands in acrylics

I decided to paint a larger landscape on the loose canvas. I was fun to paint and I am really pleased with how it turned out.

For something different I decided to paint a few aceo watercolour landscape paintings.  This the first one.

Bluebell Woods in watercolours

I had fun painting this one.  Trying out a new watercolour paper - Daler - Rowney 'The Langton' NOT 300gsm watercolour paper.  I rather like it - easier to rub off the masking fluid and to lift the paint to lighten areas.  I can purchase this paper from my local art shop (provided they have stock) as oppose to driving around 30 minutes to an art store that stocks Arches paper.  Will so how it goes.

Bluebell Stream in watercolours

So this is the second painting.  I changed it to a bluebell scene as I do love painting bluebells.   I used a mixture of cobalt blue and Alizarin Crimson for the bluebell colour  which seems to work really well.

This one was fun to paint.  I want to try and paint another bluebell watercolour scene this week - thinking about painting it as a 8 x 10 inch.  I will see how I go.

I painted two watercolour landscapes yesterday.  This is the first one - Bluebell Woodlands.  I added the puddle of water to make it a bit more interesting.  Rather pleased how it turned out.

I love painting bluebell woods.  This one was fun to paint. I am actually thinking of painting a larger  5 x 7 inches bluebell scene but in watercolours so will see how I go tomorrow.

Woodland Bridge in watercolours

I had planned to paint some aceo's today but I had been thinking  about how I would paint this scene in watercolours all weekend so decided to paint it instead and then give my full attention to the aceo's paintings tomorrow. I had fun painting this one - I used quite a bit of artistic license when it came to painting the flowers and stream.  I am rather pleased how it turned out.

Bluebell Forest ACEO in acrylics

I had fun painting this one.    I enjoy painting the small landscapes so will have to look for some more reference photos that I can paint.  At least the sun is shining today - yesterday it was raining.  Fingers crossed we will have a nice sunny weekend.

Bluebell Woods ACEO in Acrylics

I decided to paint a landscape for a change.  I always find it rather amazing how a painting  comes together.  It goes through the "ugly stage" were you think this is not going to work, to were it suddenly takes shape and you wonder why you ever had doubts.  This painting had a few "ugly stages" but I am happy how it turned out in the end.  I will have to look through my reference photo's to see if I can find a few more landscapes that will suite the ACEO size.
