I am rather partial to painting yellow feathers so couldn't resist painting this one.

I love how this one is perched on the branch.  I used quite a few glazes to pulled up the depth to feathers and really pleased with how it turned out.

I love the position this one is perched on the branch. I used a few glazes to get the colours right for the feather which seemed to work rather well.

Common Yellowthroat ACEO in acrylics

I love the markings of this little song bird and I am really pleased how he turned out.  These birds can be found in North America ranging from southern Canada to Central Mexico.  They measure are about 11 - 13 cm in length and weight around 9 - 10 grams. 

 

Common Yellowthroat measures 3.5 x 2.5 inches and is painted on 300gsm smooth Arches watercolour paper.
