This was another custom piece that I really enjoyed painting.  I often see the Willie Wagtail on my walks.

Willie Wagtail ACEO in acrylics

I enjoyed painting this one - it is a bit tricky painting black feathers but also rather  fun as you start off with blues and reds  in the base layer and build up the black feathers from there.

Willie Wagtail in acrylics

The  Willie Wagtail is found around much of mainland Australia and I often see them in the garden and when I am out walking.  They are very quick though and don't sit still for very long.  I took the reference photo for this one down on the Gold Coast and just love its pose.
